April 2023. After the "shock and awe" of 2022s September show at Connie Link Amphitheater and the Thanksgiving Weekend Extravaganza at The Castle Theater drummer Don Stahl, keyboardist Ray Wiggs, bassist Jeffery Walker, and yours truly Marc Boon vocals, keyboard and guitar (plus any number of Honorary Day Drinkers) can be found mixing it up as best we can back in the studio. We are preparing a CD release for mid summer with a few shows and more recording for sure.
We're digging some additional Steely Dan tunes and getting a start on the next part of the journey as we share some CSNY, Joni Mitchell, Crosby by himself and his son James Raymonds music with CPR and a few other Laurel Canyon artists.
We also have had the pleasure of playing with some of Central Illinois' best guitar players Kirk Ellis, Burl Torner, Trefan Owen, Jay Thomason, Jerry Erickson, John Kerner, and Chuck Weidrich and now Jeff Turley and a few others are coming in for some solo work as well. Our horn section features Drew Davis, Sarah Lange, Jeff Estes, Michael Archer, Aaron Garcia, and Russ Zehr though they may not be at all shows.
Special kudos to our amazing vocalists McKenzie Ahlman, Jessica Bella, Jenae Thomson and of course Dakota Kisandi.
Jeff Young from Jack Dupp and the Empty Bottles and Blackwater Foe Fame is a special Day Drinker on some outstanding vocals on some Dan tunes and others. More guests coming in too so stay tuned.
